Although simple in appearance the Taxis Abroad website is a very complex ecommerce site handling many thousands of airport taxi services around the world every year.

Master price tables from taxi operators in towns and cities worldwide are entered into the database along with the types of car available. Many variables are taken into account such as differing prices for different seasons, different times of the day, different days of the week and different cars. Some operators don't provide transfers on certain dates and other don't provide certain cars on certain dates. The cleverest part of the website is the ability to co-ordinate and work with so many different operators with differing ways of doing business, in differing currencies.

The website searches the database on the customers request and locates a suitable operator between the selected airport and destination (it may be that several operators will work the same route). A deposit is taken via credit card from the customer and the website in the background interfaces with the selected operator to book the transfer. A ticket is then sent to the customer and upon the full settlement being made the booking is confirmed.

The entire system (except for the data entry) is automated and thanks to its right-first-time business processes, has successfully seen countless travellers collected from the airport and taken to their destination, and usually back again too!
